Golden West
Towers has
housed Meals on
Wheels since 1994.
In January 2005, we
needed to move out
temporarily during
building
renovations. The
Lomita-Harbor City
Kiwanis Club
graciously stepped
in and offered the
use of its
facilities for as
long as we needed
them. We made the
move and contracted
with
St. Vincent
Meals on Wheels of
Los Angeles to
prepare our meals.
We have been based
out of the Kiwanis
Club for over a year
now and have much
appreciated the
generous support
from Kiwanis! We
look forward to
being back at the
Golden West Towers,
which provides a
more central
location for our
meal distribution,
on Monday. We do
very much appreciate
their long-term
support for Meals on
Wheels. We are also
appreciative of St.
Vincent Meals on
Wheels for making
sure that we have
food to deliver.
Torrance-Lomita
Meals on Wheels
provides meals to
about 100
house-bound citizens
in the cities of
Torrance and Lomita.
Our funding comes
from contributions
from local
companies, city
government and
individuals.
Volunteers from
the local community
deliver meals Monday
through Friday. We
have a waiting list
for services and are
in need of
volunteers so that
we can expand our
services to more
seniors. For more
information on how
you can help or on
receiving services,
please call our
office at
